Before the end of the year, all the first three batches of pilot villages were completed. The task is to complete the signing of the fourth batch of pilot tasks. The Director of the Information and Communication Development Department, Wen Ku, made a deployment on the pilot work, and the relevant responsible persons of the three basic telecommunications enterprises made statements.
The meeting pointed out that the pilot work of universal service for telecommunications was carried out smoothly and the results were remarkable. The completion rate of the three batches of pilot tasks reached 98%. The proportion of optical fiber in China's administrative villages has increased from less than 70% before the pilot to 96%, and the coverage rate of 4G network in administrative villages has reached 95%, greatly improving the capacity of broadband network infrastructure in rural and remote areas of China. It provides a solid network guarantee for the revitalization of the countryside and the fight against poverty.
The meeting stressed that to further improve the universal service of telecommunications, we must improve political positions and take the initiative to act; we must strengthen overall coordination and comprehensively promote implementation; we must focus on poverty alleviation and strengthen application and promotion; we must strengthen active propaganda and enhance the impact of pilot work; Strengthen project management to ensure mission completion.
The meeting requested that all basic telecommunications companies should work for 80 days. It is necessary to complete the first three batches of 130,000 administrative villages' fiber access tasks by the end of this year, and realize the goal of 98% administrative village-pass fiber proposed by the National 13th Five-Year Plan. . For the fourth batch of pilots, the communication bureaus must ensure that the contract is signed before the end of the year, and start the project construction as soon as possible, so that the masses can use the high-speed and convenient 4G network as soon as possible to hand over the excellent answer to the communication industry for the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up. .
